Incubator | Optitex 2
2025
In 2023, the first edition of OPTITEX demonstrated the promising potential of this unique incubator dedicated to collaborative, cross-sector innovation. 2 promising prototypes were funded: a UV bandage to prevent and treat wound infection, and an insect bait via an intelligent, luminous textile.
Building on these successes, which illustrate the impact of collective intelligence, in 2025 TECHTERA is launching the second edition of OPTITEX with 3 complementary partners to push back the boundaries of textiles: ACSIEL, MEDICALPS and MINALOGIC.
This initiative responds to a dual challenge: to support the priority needs of forward medicine, as expressed by the French Ministry of Defence and the Defence Innovation Agency, and to cross-fertilize the expertise of four strategic sectors – textiles and flexible materials, digital, electronics and healthcare technologies.
Through a year-long program combining ideation, technical creativity and prototyping, participants will be supported within an ecosystem conducive to innovation. The winning concepts will be selected in close collaboration with the DGA, and their prototypes will be partially financed by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region.
10 companies will be selected to form a complementary group.
Why take part in OPTITEX?
- Meet tomorrow’s challenges: Explore innovative solutions for the defense and healthcare markets, in direct collaboration with the Defense Innovation Agency,
- Innovate collectively: Collaborate with players from non-competitive sectors, in an environment that fosters collective intelligence,
- Go from idea to reality: Benefit from expert support, from ideation to prototyping, with financial backing from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
What is the incubator program?
With a structured program to help innovation emerge, the OPTITEX incubator is structured around two main phases:
- Creativity and design: Three face-to-face workshops (April 2, April 16, May 14, 2025) to discover, enrich and formalize innovative concepts.
- Prototyping: From June onwards, selected projects will benefit from partial funding to develop their proof of concept, with a presentation of results at the end of the year to principals and funders.
