Industry Week: the 14th edition will be held from November 17 to 23, 2025
Paris, March 19, 2025 – Marc Ferracci, the French Minister for Industry and Energy, has announced the dates of this key event between the world of business and education, designed to raise the profile of careers in industry.
Organized since 2011 by the Direction Générale des Entreprises (DGE), this annual event aims to create vocations by changing the way young people and jobseekers look at industry and its professions.
The government’s industrial barometer has counted over 450 plant openings and expansions since 2022, and 125,000 jobs have been created in manufacturing between 2017 and 2023. Yet the sector faces persistent recruitment difficulties. According to France Travail1 , nearly 260,000 recruitment projects were planned for industry in 2024, yet nearly 60% of these were deemed difficult by companies. According to DARES, there are some 59,000 job vacancies2 in the sector. The industry is still struggling to attract people, whatever their level of qualification.
The French government has made skills needs a major focus of its reindustrialization policy, and the France 2030 plan has earmarked €1.5 billion for the emergence of talent and the adaptation of training to the skills requirements of new sectors and professions of the future.
Industry Week is part of this approach, giving industrial companies the opportunity to promote their professions and know-how, and to reveal their strengths, far from the clichés of industry that have been forged in the collective imagination. Middle and high school students, apprentices and jobseekers can take this opportunity to discover an innovative sector, committed to decarbonization, rooted in local communities and serving the essential needs of the French people (health, energy, mobility, food, etc.).
In addition, the feminization of the sector is one of the objectives of this initiative, as women represent less than 30% of employees in the industry. The IndustriElles collective, coordinated by the French Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, has launched a call for candidates to recruit ambassadors, with the aim of attracting more women to the industrial professions, disseminating best practices and federating a community of women in industry.
With over 8,000 accredited events and 5.7 million registered participants in 2024, Semaine de l’Industrie has become a not-to-be-missed event between education and the world of work. Professional federations, major groups and institutional partners, in particular France Travail, all play an active role in promoting industrial professions.
As in previous years, all players, companies, industry federations, schools and training establishments wishing to participate will be invited to label their events from the start of the school year in September 2025.
Marc Ferracci, French Minister for Industry and Energy: “Industry Week is a key opportunity to introduce young people to industrial professions and encourage the feminization of the sector. After a successful 2024 edition, the 2025 edition will further amplify this dynamic by encouraging more companies to open their doors to young talent. It’s a unique opportunity to showcase the industry’s trades, expertise and innovations, while sparking new vocations.”
