Mobilizing the electronics industry
Nantes, May 5, 2017 – ACSIEL and WE Network announce the mobilization of the French electronics industry for the World Electronics Forum 2017.
On Thursday May 4, ACSIEL Alliance Électronique and WE Network unveiled the French electronics industry’s action plan for the Industry of the Future. It sets out the stages of the national industrial mobilization, which is being structured ahead of the World Electronics Forum 2017 (WEF) in Angers next October, in the presence of the CEO’s of the global electronics industry. Workshops, thematic roadshows and a common roadmap will be organized to build the Smart World of tomorrow.
All the driving forces behind the electronics industry in the West of France gathered at ACSIEL’s Journées Régionales de l’électronique at the Cité des Congrès on Thursday, May 4, to discuss the theme: “Electronic production: A sector is taking shape in the West”. After a series of morning conferences focusing on electronics, the afternoon’s main topic was the electronics industry of the future. At the end of a round-table discussion on the electronics industry of the future, moderated by WE Network, manufacturers announced the mobilization of the industry ahead of the World Electronics Forum.
In particular, ACSIEL and WE Network highlighted the strengths of the French electronics industry in developing the uses of tomorrow’s Smart World, with a strong presence across the entire electronics value chain, from design to production, including characterization and testing. The target sectors are numerous: Smart home, Smart mobility, Smart energy, Smart agri, Smart security, Smart factory, Smart health, Smart wear, etc.
Thematic workshops and roadshows will be dedicated specifically to industry players at the WEF: they will complete the work begun at the start of the year to lay the foundations for a shared roadmap. To meet all these challenges, a call for contributions will shortly be issued to all industrial sectors in France, as well as to our European partners. At the end of the WEF meetings, this call will enable us to draw up a new roadmap for the development of the electronics industry of the future.
