Our history

For 100 years, grouping and consolidating to serve electronics

“Alone, we go faster; together, we go further”, this proverb could be the signature of our professional organization as it alone sums up its history and its evolution for more than 100 years!

If ACSIEL, Alliance of Components and Systems for the Electronic Industry, celebrates its 10th anniversary in this year 2023, we have to go back to 1922 to find the foundations of ACSIEL, Alliance Electronique.

From rapprochements to groupings, from recruitment to membership and, very often, from mutations to revolutions, our history is that of men and women who over the last 100 years, behind the acronyms and names of unions, have always had meaning. acute commitment to serving the common interest and a passion for the French electronics industry under three watchwords: Regroup | Consolidate | Serve.

Our history

1922

Membership of passive component manufacturers in SNIR – National Union of Radioelectric Industries chaired by Émile GIRARDEAU, founder of the Compagnie Générale de la Télégraphie Sans Fil ( CSF)

1951

Creation of SITEL – Electronic Tube Industries Union, following the desire to bring together several manufacturers of electronic tubes, members of the SNIR. Jean PEYRON of the Compagnie des Lampes becomes its President.

1952

Creation of SIPARE – Union of Radioelectric Spare Parts and Accessories Industries and Electronics, chaired by Charles LEGORTU

1958

SITEL becomes SITELESC – Union of Electronic and Semi Tube Industries -drivers, following the AGM of December 10, Jean PEYRON remains president.

1968

Creation, at the dawn of the industrialization of electronics in France, of the GFIE – Electronic Industry Suppliers Group

1978

SIPARE becomes the SYCEP – Union of Passive Electronic Components Industries, chaired by Hugues de BEAUVAIS.

1990

Creation of SIMTEC – Union of Test and Measurement Instrumentation of Energy Conversion in the field of electronics

1999

SYCEP gives birth to GIXEL, Professional grouping of system component industries electronics, chaired by Pierre GATTAZ, Radiall.

2013

GIXEL and SITELESC, the two electronic components unions, decide to merge in order to better promote and strengthen the sector within the FIEEC.

On September 27, 2013, ACSIEL – Alliance of Components and Systems for Industrie Electronique is officially created.

Gérard MATHERON, Vice-president of STMicroelectronics< /strong> and director of the Crolles site, 1ᵉʳ president of this new alliance then declared: “This merger constitutes a fundamental step in a logic of evolution which will allow the new union to position itself as a leader in all markets irrigated by electronics and to complete its actions towards members.”

Gilles RIZZO, appointed general delegate of SITELESC since July 1 to carry out the merger, becomes the first general delegate of ACSIEL.

2016

New step, new grouping. On January 1, GFIE and SIMTEC joined ACSIEL to form ACSIEL Alliance Electronique.

Through this new alliance, the electronics value chain will speak with one voice, defend its common interests, promote its professions in France and ensure creation training adapted to changes in its market.

For Gérard MATHERON who remains president “This alliance will allow us to access greater credibility and visibility with public authorities and our customers”.

2017

Election of Jean-Luc ESTIENNE, STMicroelectronics France as President of #ACSIEL.

2019

Recognition by the State of the strategic role of the electronics sector in the French industrial reconquest.

On March 15, the 4 main electronics unions affiliated with the Federation of Electricity, Electronics and Communication Industries (FIEEC) – ACSIEL, Embedded France, the SNESE and the SPDEI< /strong> as well as the FIEEC – are officially found within the CFS Electronique, Strategic Committee for the Electronic Sector.
