FIEEC | Business report 2018-2019

July, 2019 – In more ways than one, the past year has seen a number of structural changes in our profession.

More than ever, societal and environmental challenges are at the heart of public policy and the ambitions of governments in France and elsewhere.

Once again this year, our industries have courageously and decisively assumed their responsibilities in building the world of tomorrow, in order to meet the challenges of energy and climate change, build a more circular economy, and secure users in a world that is more connected than ever. We are convinced that public authorities, civil society and businesses share the same ambitions and the same desire to respond to the urgent need to change the world in which we live, in order to outline the contours of a more responsible, more sustainable and also more aware world. The European elections held last May were a definitive reflection of all these issues, and had the onerous task of defining the direction and future of a continent which, century after century, has shaped history.

This activity report retraces a year within the FIEEC, marked by our commitment to act in the service of society (page 15), to transform through digital technology (page 35) and to ensure the success of our industries (page 51). It also enables us to set milestones and open up perspectives for the years to come.

The challenges are immense, and electro-industries are at the heart of the response. This is why our profession will never cease to be a source of proposals for public authorities, a source of innovation in the service of citizens, their well-being, comfort and safety, and a source of growth and international influence for our region.

For all that has been achieved this year, and for all the successes to come, we would like to salute the unfailing support of our member unions, associate members and partners who, every day, place their trust in us and enable us to show the best that industry can offer today and tomorrow.
